Please reply only if you have a direct experience of obtaining PIO card (i have done enough web searches).
My two questions are:
1) If I am sending the original US passport of my son, do I need to send the apostilled and notarized copy of the US passport also.
2) The san francisco consulate says it needs the apostilled copy of the us passport. How to obtain the apostilled copy in seattle. Will the consulate if we send the notarized copy without sending the apostilled copy.

Hi,
I am trying to apply PIO card for my daughter, at Indian consulate SFO, using the form downloaded from
http://www.cgisf.org/visa/piocard.pdf
Do the parents signature need to be notarized, even if we are going in person to apply?
According to page 2 in the form:
"Declaration of Parents for applying for minors (upto 18 years) – to be signed
By both parents duly notarized"
I have checked with several of my friends and none of them had to notarize their signatures.
Has anything changed recently? If any of you have applied recently in person, please advise.
Thanks!

Hi,
I forwarded original passport of my son and did not send any notorized or apostalized or whatever copies. If you send orignal you do not need to get them notarized. I basically sent orignal passport for my son and my husband and my orignal indian passports. I also sent our birth certificates (notarized). Hope that helps:)

I guess the word "apostilled" is same as "notarized copy". If that is the case then, for you to get nortarized copies here is 2 options:
1. Contact Pradeep Gupta in Bellevue
pradeepkgupta@hotmail.com
(425)-829-4878 GUPT ( Cel )
2. Bank of America can help you, they have notratries. First call them to get an appointment, they will let you jnow what all things to carry for them to notarize the documents.
When I sent my documents to SFO for my US Passport for Citizenship, I did NOT send any notarized documents, each photo-copy was signed by me in BLUE INK though as that is what the web-site asked me to do.
